Researchers in the US have confirmed that China is working on a nuclear-powered propulsion system for an aircraft carrier warship.
The researchers have confirmed that the country has developed a land-based prototype nuclear reactor that can provide power to a large surface warship.
This is the clearest indication towards China developing its own very first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. Dive deeper into this Must-Read.

The research conducted by the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in California is the first to confirm that China is working on a nuclear-powered propulsion system for a large warship.
Nuclear-powered warships take much longer time to build than traditional carriers. However, they provide the added advantage of being able to stay at sea for exponentially longer durations.
Moreover, using a nuclear reactor for propulsion also means that they can store more weapons and other crew members’ requirements in place of fuel. The reactor also allows them to generate more power, which they can use to run better, bigger, and more advanced technical systems on the warship.
A curious case of the UK’s oldest satellite, named Skynet-1A, has come into the spotlight. Launched in 1969, it was once a vital part of Britain’s telecommunications network. But its story is shrouded in mystery.
As years passed, its mission ended, and it was expected to drift into a harmless orbit. However, something unexpected happened. It was moved, a deliberate act that has puzzled experts for decades.
Why would someone move a defunct satellite? And who was responsible? The questions remain unanswered.
According to reports, Elon Musk’s SpaceX will use batteries developed by South Korea’s LG Energy Solutions for its Starship rocket, which is intended for Mars.
The reports state that the South Korean battery manufacturing firm is planning to develop new cells based on its cylindrical batteries for the Starship rocket.
According to a report in Korean media, SpaceX has signed a deal with LG Energy Solution to supply cylindrical lithium-ion batteries custom-built to meet the demands of the Starship rocket.
