New York University Langone Health just achieved a medical milestone.
A 57-year-old woman with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease just received double lung transplant surgery using the da Vinci Xi robotic system that trained solely by analyzing videos of experienced surgeons.
This groundbreaking achievement marks a big leap forward in robotic medicine. Don’t miss this Must-Read.

The da Vinci system was known for input inaccuracies, so researchers had to update the robotic surgical system in order for it to perform the first double lung transplant all by itself.
Researchers from Stanford University and Johns Hopkins University trained the da Vinci System robot in three basic activities: suturing, tissue lifting, and needle handling.
Kinematic data, which mathematically represents robotic motion, was combined with methods from sophisticated language models to create the training model, which included machine learning concepts. This method enabled the systems’ wrist-mounted cameras to learn from surgical videos.
China’s brand-new powerful engine can shoot out hypersonic weapons at remarkable speeds on air and water alone, depending on where it’s being used.
The key to its success is its scramjet engines, which are supersonic combustion ramjet engines but new and improved as igniting the boron in water proved challenging. The research team updated the design to give the solid fuel another chance to burn and enhance the engine’s efficiency.
Various studies have been conducted to review the adoption of boron-loaded gel fuel for practical ramjet and scramjet propulsion devices.
The image of the Neanderthals continues to change with the discovery of a glue-making structure, a specialized hearth, where they made a prehistoric superglue from birch tar.
The circular hearth, which boasts a sophisticated design, was found in a seaside cave. Here, they would burn resinous plants linked to tar production.
Layered and complex, they constructed them with specific technological objectives, like crafting tools and weapons with birch tar, which puts their skillset well beyond what researchers initially thought.
