💡 Teenage ‘Newton of Gaza’ creates system to light up family tent

Plus: World’s tallest 3D-printed tower set to be built in Swiss Alps

In Gaza, 15-year-old Hussam Al-Attar, dubbed the 'Newton of Gaza,' resourcefully illuminated Rafah's displacement shelters during a severe electricity crisis. Using basic tools and salvaged components from discarded electronics, including coils, wires, and magnets, Hussam created makeshift power generators.

By harnessing wind power with a dynamo and blades, he provided light to dark, cold shelters. His motivation was simple – to bring light, warmth, and joy to his twin nephews, easing their fear in the challenging environment. For more details on how Hussam generated electricity with limited resources, check out today's Must Read.

MUST READ

In the heart of Gaza, a 15-year-old Palestinian teen, Hussam Al-Attar, has become a beacon of hope and ingenuity. He has been nicknamed the 'Newton of Gaza' because he managed to light up displacement shelters in Rafah using the most basic tools and wind energy.

Despite the scarcity of resources, Hussam managed to create fans that generate electricity through power generators amid a severe power outage.

Saturn's moon Mimas, resembling the "Star Wars" Death Star, hides a captivating secret—a vast liquid water ocean beneath its icy exterior. Thanks to data from NASA's Cassini spacecraft data, we now know this ocean lies beneath a 20-30 kilometers thick ice layer and formed between five and 25 million years ago.

The world’s tallest 3D-printed tower, set to be built in the Swiss Alps along the Julier mountain pass, began construction at the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich this month. Tor Alva, also known as the "White Tower," will be 30 meters tall and will serve as a versatile space for art installations, music, and theater performances.
