Now you can order your very own personal robot “Eliza.”
Eliza Wakes Up was initially the character and mascot of an open-source, decentralized operating system. Now, she has a body, and she’s available for sale at a seriously steep price.
A humanoid designed to be “a real girl with emotional intelligence,” she offers human-like companionship. More than code and data, she has her own thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
Not only can she run at an 8-minute mile speed, she can cut cigars and even serve drinks. Let's take a closer look at this Must Read.

ElizaOS, a popular AI agent, is evolving into a life-sized companion. A specially made silicone animatronic face allows her to express her face and talk naturally.
The 5’10” humanoid Eliza has a unique personality and extensive expertise and was built to cultivate strong bonds with people. She can manage schedules, engage on social media, automate research, process documents, and execute blockchain transactions.
Her advanced AI goes beyond the technical, however. She can engage in conversations and share stories. She can interpret emotional cues. Starting price: $420,000.
A warning has been issued about remote-controlled sex toys—they might be vulnerable to attack or interception by malicious third parties.
Data concerning a person's sex life is at risk. Above all, these devices are equipped with Bluetooth connectivity that isn’t encrypted and a companion app that holds personal data.
Insecure intermediaries, such as third-party APIs, that provide cloud services, chat features, videoconferencing, and more, could sync up with Bluetooth and collect sensitive data from the companion app.
These devices are “under-regulated” and “under-secured.”
The Akademik Lomonosov is a floating nuclear power plant in the Russian Arctic region of Chukotka. Operational for over five years now, it just generated its first billion kilowatt-hours of energy.
A feat in engineering, the maritime vessel is 472 feet long and 98 feet wide. It has two KLT-40S nuclear reactors onboard for power generation. The plant doubles as a cogeneration facility and repurposes waste heat.
The power plant supplied 20 percent of the region’s demand in 2020. Today, it’s closer to 60 percent. It currently serves a population of 5,000 people.
