š„ļø Musk to build most powerful AI supercomputer powered by 100,000 Nvidia chips
The collaboration with Oracle is part of xAIās broader plan to establish a āGigafactory of Compute.ā This initiative follows a successful funding round, during which xAI secured $6 billion in investment at an $18 billion valuation.
The proposed supercomputer, informally referred to as a āgigacomputer,ā would comprise a vast assembly of Nvidiaās H100 graphics processing units (GPUs), currently the industry standard for AI data center chips.
Musk envisions this machine to be at least four times larger than the largest existing GPU clusters, underscoring the immense computational power required to advance AI capabilities.
š Worldās first diabetes cure with cell therapy achieved in China
In a groundbreaking medical achievement, a team of Chinese scientists and clinicians has reportedly cured a patient of diabetes using cell therapy for the first time.
The patient, a 59-year-old man who had endured type 2 diabetes for 25 years, faced severe complications from the disease. Despite receiving a kidney transplant in 2017, he had lost most of his pancreatic islet function, and was dependent on multiple daily insulin injections.
In July 2021, the patient underwent the cell transplant. Just 11 weeks later, he no longer required external insulin, and within a year, his need for oral medication to control blood sugar levels was completely eliminated.
š First pill for postpartum depression is now out, turns to be effective
Psychiatrists have started writing prescriptions for Zuranolone, which is the first pill that can cure postpartum depression.
Postpartum depression is almost becoming an everyday reality for mothers, especially those in their 40s. What usually follows this medical condition is extreme sadness, anxiety or despair, and can affect up to 1 in 5 women.
It might increase the risk of suicide, high blood pressure, diabetes or stroke. Some of the other ailments include mental illness, suicide, and drug overdoses.
