Plus: Earthā€™s only natural nuclear reactor is a 2-billion-year-old wonder

Nvidia has just dropped a bombshell in the AI world: a tiny supercomputer that's ready to redefine generative AI. Introducing the Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit.

It is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and targets a wide range of users, from commercial developers to students and hobbyists. This new compact supercomputer is now available at a slashed price.

Priced at $249, down from its original $499 tag, it promises impressive advancements in performance. Let's take a closer look at our Must-Read.

MUST-READ

This latest developer kit offers up to 1.7 times the inference performance for generative AI tasks compared to its predecessor.

It features a 70% boost in performance, reaching 67 INT8 TOPS, and an increase in memory bandwidth to 102 GB/sā€”improvements that will help users in various AI applications, including creating chatbots, building visual AI agents, and deploying robots.

The Jetson Orin Nano Super is designed for those looking to develop skills in fields like generative AI, robotics, and computer vision.

The ā€œdog-likeā€ animal lived 270-250 million years ago before the age of the dinosaurs.

Discovered on the Spanish island of Mallorca, the fossil might not have a species name yet as it was just discovered. This is said to be the oldest therapsid on record and with saber-toothed teeth.

Mammals are the last surviving members of this ancient group, so this ā€œdog-likeā€ relative is changing what they thought they knew about this therapsid and giving them new insights into where we come from.

China has announced an ambitious infrastructure project i.e., building the worldā€™s largest artificial island airport.

This project is taking shape in the northeastern city of Dalian, a bustling port city with strong economic ties to Japan and South Korea.

The new Dalian Jinzhouwan International Airport will cover a massive island area of 20 square kilometers (7.72 square miles). The airportā€™s initial capacity will be 43 million passengers per year, but itā€™s expected to eventually double to handle 80 million passengers annually.
