It’s official: the world’s largest metamorphic rock oilfield is up and running. The billion-tonne Phase I project of Bohai 26-6 kicked off on February 7.
CNOOC said that the main production facilities include a new central processing platform and an unmanned wellhead platform. A total of 33 development wells will be commissioned.
The successful commencement of production of Bozhong 26-6 marks a new stage in the development of offshore “deep play complicated buried hill oil and gas reservoirs.” Let's take a closer look at this Must Read.

MUST-READ

Bozhong 26-6 Oilfield is the world’s largest metamorphic buried hill oilfield with cumulative proven oil and gas in place of over 200 million cubic meters. It was built in only three years thanks to standardized engineering.
The project in Bohai adopts advanced technology to capture and separate the associated carbon dioxide from crude oil extraction and reinject back into the formation to drive the oil, thereby increasing production while reducing emissions.
The Bohai Oilfield has “successfully explored and discovered 6 billion tonne oil and gas fields in recent years.”

Dams represented human ingenuity at its finest. Some countries like China are forging ahead with ambitious dam-building plans, but a growing movement in the US and Europe wonders if dams even make sense anymore.
The most dramatic example of this shift is the Klamath River project, which sought to dismantle four dams due to their adverse environmental impact. At $500 million, it’s the largest of its kind in the US, and a milestone in environmental engineering.
In short, removing these dams were not as simple as blowing them up in dramatic Hollywood fashion.

The US Navy has taken significant steps to enhance its mine countermeasure capabilities. Central to this effort is the MCM Unmanned Surface Vehicle, a diesel-powered craft.
Its modular design allows it to integrate diverse payload delivery systems intended for MCM tasks such as minesweeping, mine-hunting, and mine neutralization.
By securing these contracts, the Navy is enforcing its capability to conduct effective mine countermeasure operations in coastal regions.
